The urge to indulge in seasonal hair transitions is real. There comes a time when the weather gets just warm enough, and the days get just long enough, that the desire to cut, dye, highlight, or gloss the lifeless strands that have seen you through the coldest months becomes too strong to ignore. But transformation is hard. What if you miss your old length or your natural color when summer (finally) rolls around? What if your winter skin isn’t quite ready for your new spring hair?
For those not mentally or emotionally prepared to pull a full Cara Delevingne (so short! so bold!), there’s color-depositing conditioner. These ultra-hydrating masks, which leave a small amount of rich mahogany, golden blonde, or bright auburn pigment behind with every wash, were designed to help keep color-treated hair healthier and brighter, longer.
